Problem Fix

Whew! I have problem posting since Wednesday night on this blog. As soon as I hit the ‘publish’ button, a white blank space comes up.

Supposedly my previous post (the freebie from Michelle Coleman) should be last Wed night but since I always got the white space, it didn’t go through. But now it’s all fixed! :)

I’ll tell you all the details later on. It’s early morning here and I need to prepare my son for school…

Be back for updates on this… :)

Ok, here’s what happened. Wednesday night after I made a post and then hit ‘Publish’ button it will direct me to a white blank space and the link on the browser was http://wwwcaryl2twentyinfo/wp-admin/post.php … I thought there’s a problem posting with an image so I tried to upload it on photobucket then insert image but the same thing happened. Since it’s already late and am sleepy already, I leave it as is and didn’t fix the error. The next day (Thursday), I use Safari browser because I was thinking it has something to do with my FF running on Mac ‘coz lately it’s acting up. But still the problem exists. I keep trying to fix it the whole day but I didn’t find any progress. Until I decided to upgrade my WordPress to it’s latest version 2.5 thinking this could be the solution and might resolved the problem. So that night I do the upgrade but got problem along the way that it took me so long and even stay late until 2AM to finish the upgrade and all, hahaha…. but you know what, still the white space problem was there, I couldn’t post. Then finally I checked on WP forum and there might be somebody who has a similar problem. And I found out, I’m not alone and a lot of bloggers encountered the same thing. And what’s causing it? SPAM. Yes, there’s a record on one of the database that causing the whole thing to go on a white space… Others found it on different file but in my case I found it on my wp-settings file and looked something like this:
a:1:{s:5:./././././././././././././././././././././tmp/…..jpg
That’s what I get on the image link . I wonder for that slash thing there…
Anyway, here’s what I did: From dashboard, clicked on Settings then Miscellaneous (this is for WP 2.5 already)… on uploading, I found that slash record there and I deleted it then save changes. After I do that, still the white space, hehe… so I do my changes directly on the database (mySQL) and delete this record. After that everything went back to normal, :)

So in case you have the same problem, check on your settings as well. And you can also make reference to the wp forum for more troubleshooting.
